The Board of Trade was legally founded on December 2, 1889. 130 years later, we will explore the past, present, and future of the Board of Trade and our dynamic region at the 2019 Annual Meeting.

Annual Meeting Program Overview

Reflecting on our past: From Union Station to Metro to the Kennedy Center, many of the region’s iconic assets were built with the support of the Board of Trade. On our 130th anniversary, attendees will learn about this organization’s history of influence.

Celebrating our present: Spirits are high in the DMV after a series of big wins: Our region attracted huge, new investments from Amazon, Micron, and other technology companies, further positioning the DMV as a hub for innovation. We weathered the longest Federal government shutdown in U.S. history with many examples of personal and corporate generosity towards affected workers. The Capitals, Mystics, and Nationals all had historic victories. Let’s celebrate the strong spirit of the DMV.

Looking towards the future: Attendees will learn about the Board of Trade’s plans for 2020 and how they can engage. This will be an excellent opportunity to begin planning your 2020 participation in events, Connected DMV solution groups, and other activities.

Attendees will vote to approve 2020 Board of Directors and changes to the Board of Trade bylaws. We urge all member organizations to have at least one representative present at this vote.
