How We Work

The Board of Trade brings together all the right pieces to address critical opportunities and meet the challenges in our region by:

  1. Enhanced Scanning of Critical Trends and sharing of best practices to prepare our members and regional leaders to make better decisions.
  2. Increased Advocacy & Policy Work to promote business and improve operating conditions for our members and the region with a focus on Talent, Transportation, Technology, Economic Sustainability, and Health & Wellness.
  3. Elevating the Business Climate to increase the value of companies, drive business results, enhance the positive impact of business, and address key issues from climate change to racial inclusion.

With the Greater Washington region being so vast, our policy partners allow us to get more work done across the region and make an impact. Our team works directly with our members and partners to address critical issues at various legislative and advocacy forums across Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. Our policy partners include G.S. Proctor & Associates in Maryland, McGuireWoods Consulting in Virginia, and Holland & Knight and Georgetown Public Affairs in Washington D.C.
