Since the beginning of the year, we have experienced extreme volatility in our capital markets.  On April 29^th, the DOW fell by more than 900 points, the largest single drop since a pandemic was announced in 2020. For the year, the DOW is already down by 10%, the NASDAQ by 21% and the S&P 500 down 13%, and bear market analysts suggest it could dip even more.

How should we be thinking about this from a business perspective? What are policymakers doing in our region to ensure more capital is available as a resource to businesses considering recessionary pressures?
