Potomac Conference

About The Potomac Conference

The Potomac Conference is more than an event—it’s a strategic, action-driven initiative focused on shaping the long-term economic future of the Greater Washington region. It brings together the Greater Washington Board of Trade, the Council of Governments, the Consortium of Universities, and the Greater Washington Partnership as a strategic group committed to collaboration and impact.

This is where the region’s top business, government, nonprofit and academic leaders come together to tackle our biggest economic challenges and unlock new opportunities. Through focused sessions, strategic planning, analysis and real coordination, the Potomac Conference is building the foundation for a more competitive, resilient, and inclusive regional economy.

The work happens year-round and comes to a head at the Annual Potomac Conference, where big ideas turn into bold action.

The Potomac Conference, a long-standing public-private partnership was re-established in 2024, after a 12-year hiatus. Law enforcement, nonprofit, education and business leaders from across the metropolitan area gathered with a collective goal of encouraging cross-sector dialogue and further cooperation on regional approaches to public safety challenges.
